First Place names new VP
WARREN – First Place Bank has named a new corporate vice president of commercial banking who also will serve as an executive managing director and region president-Ohio for the bank’s holding company, Talmer Bancorp, Inc.
Jamie Lynch’s new role was announced Monday by Thomas C. Shafer, President and CEO of First Place Bank. Pending regulatory approval, Lynch has been tapped to eventually become the Ohio Region President for First Place Bank.
Shafer said the acquisition and recapitalization of First Place Bank by Talmer Bancorp, Inc., completed in January, has strengthened the Bank’s capital structure, triggering the move.
“One of Jamie’s main priorities will be growing the Bank’s commercial loan portfolio by identifying and creating lending solutions for local businesses throughout Northeast Ohio,” Shafer said.
Lynch has 22 years of banking and finance experience, including positions with Citizens Republic Bancorp, Sky Bank, Fifth Third Bank and Key Bank.
“The economic growth occurring in Northeast Ohio is very exciting and the opportunities being created by the health care industry, the oil and gas industry as well as general manufacturing will continue to play an important role in this region’s continued growth,” Lynch said.
