Magazine gives Lordstown’s ’13 Chevy Cruze high praise

The Lordstown-built Chevy Cruze continues to garner international media attention.

The hot-selling 2013 model was named the best compact car for families by U.S. News & World Report, in a story published Tuesday.

“Families looking for a compact car will like the Chevrolet Cruze, which, despite its small exterior, has interior space that’s in line with what some midsize sedans offer,” the magazine wrote.

The awards, which cover 19 categories, highlight vehicles that provide the best combination of quality, features and space needed by today’s families. The awards, and the U.S. News Best Cars website, are published by U.S. News & World Report.

Consumer Reports April edition released last week also labeled three Cruze models – the Eco, Cruze 1LT and Cruze LS – among the coveted “recommended buy” list and called the Eco the best domestic compact car on the list.

“That makes our pick the Chevrolet Cruze Eco, a well-finished car that’s a benchmark of quietness in this class,” editors said in a prepared release outlining their American-made favorites.
