Ashtabula Arts Center’s ballet ‘Nutcracker’ gets new director

Ballet Theatre Ashtabula’s 2018 production of “The Nutcracker” opens Friday at the Ashtabula Arts Center, 2928 W. 13th St., Ashtabula.

The ballet is a community tradition and is being directed for the first time by Clover Robinson, who took over as director of dance at AAC following the retirement of Shelagh Dubsky. The cast include Amelia Sanford as Clara, returning dancers Devon Etling and Josh Branscome as Clara’s parents, Brandon Carlson as Drosselmeier and Connor Bacon as the Mouse King.

Show times are 7:30 p.m. Friday, 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday through Dec. 16 with an additional 7:30 p.m. performance on Dec. 13. Tickets are $15 for adults, $13 for students, senior citizens and military and $11 for children ages 2 to 12 if purchased in advance at $17, $15 and $13 at the door.
