TAG now registering for summer art classes

Registrations are being accepted for three upcoming art classes at Trumbull Art Gallery.

“Anyone Can Paint” is a three-day class with Susan Jacobs designed for those with little or no art experience. Students will learn to unravel the complexities of a finished artwork by simplifying it into several layers.

The class meets from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and July 12 and 13. The cost is $50 and includes basic acrylics and brushes. Students are welcome to bring their own oil or acrylic paints.

The monthly artist tribute class will focus on the work of Pablo Picasso from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 4. Students will create a self-portrait inspired by Picasso’s cubist style and color choices. The cost is $25 and includes all supplies.

“Acrylic Pouring Paint” with Jacobs will cover a variety of techniques — dirty pour, puddle pour, swipe and ribbon — as participants will create three 4-inch sample canvas boards (or tiles). Students can experiment with color combinations and combine techniques or do a re-pour if they are unhappy with the initial result.

The class meets from 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 14. The cost is $30 and includes all supplies.

All of the classes meet at TAG, 158 N. Park Ave., Warren. To register or for more information, call 330-395-4876.
