Racino adds summer tribute concert series

AUSTINTOWN — A Tom Petty tribute band will kick off a series of trackside concerts at Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course.

Southern Accents is a Nashville-based act featuring Ronnie Gregg, vocals; Bob Ocker, guitar; Paul Jones, bass; Tony Mac, drums; Jace Aaron, guitar; and Jeff Hollandsworth, keyboards. Its members have worked with such artists as Josh Groban, Trisha Yearwood, Aaron Tippin and Dolly Parton.

The band’s setlist includes Heartbreakers’ favorites as well as songs from Petty’s solo albums.

Gates will open at 6 p.m. today, and the music starts at 7 p.m. at the racino, 655 N. Canfield Niles Road, Austintown. General admission is free, and VIP passes (which include drink tickets and special seating) are $25. No outside food, drink or seating is permitted.

• July 19 — Draw the Line (Aerosmith tribute)

• Aug. 17 — Back to Avalon (Heart tribute)
