Eastwood gallery expands free summer workshops

NILES — Art Outreach Gallery is expanding its free summer workshops and children’s programming this year.

Two workshop sessions are planned this summer, the first running from July 9 to 27 and the second from Aug. 6 to 10.

More than 25 workshops are planned, including Love Bug Ladybugs, Lego Self Portraits, Starry Night Pointillism, Textured Landscapes, How to Draw in 3D and a Famous Artist Week. Kate Antal, a Canfield High School art educator, will conduct all of the workshops.

All workshops will take place at the gallery, located inside Eastwood Mall, 5555 Youngstown-Warren Road, Niles. The programming is free and made possible through donations by local foundations, the gallery’s board of directors and community volunteers, such as the Niles McKinley High School Key Club.

Space and supplies are limited, and students must register in advance to attend. Workshop schedules and class information can be downloaded at www.artoutreach.org or picked up at the gallery or the Eastwood Mall Customer Service Center. For more information, call the Eastwood Mall office at 330-652-6980 or Gail Stark at 330-219-7833.
