Playwright, author gives Historical Society lecture

Local theater veteran and author J.E. “Jack” Ballantyne will be the next speaker in the Boardman Historical Society’s lecture series at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Boardman Library, 7680 Glenwood Ave.

Ballantyne chronicles his career, from working with Fred Rogers on “Mister Roger’s Neighborhood” to writing and directing his own work at area theater, in his memoir “Why I Did It! It’s in the Book,” which was published last year.

The program is free, but reservations should be made by calling 330-726-0651.
