Air Force flutist guests with Packard Band

A member of the U.S. Air Force Band will join the W.D. Packard Concert Band for its next performance.

Guest soloist will be Master Sgt. Megan Ensor on piccolo and flute. The Dana School of Music graduate earned her master’s degree from Wright State University and is pursuing her doctorate at George Mason University. She is principal piccolo with the U.S. Air Force Band.

She will play flute on Eric Richards’ “Dos Danzas Latinas” and piccolo on Derek Bourgeois’ “Piccolo Picante.”

Other selections on the program, conducted by Stephen L. Gage, include Thomas Knox’s “American Pageant,” Robert Sheldon’s “Danzas Cubanas,” John Mackey’s “Sheltering Sky,” Samuel R. Hanzo’s “Across the Halfpipe” and John Philip Sousa’s “Stars and Stripes Forever” march.

The concert starts at 3 p.m. Sunday at Packard Music Hall, 1703 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren. Admission is free and funding is provided by the W.D. Packard trust.
