Youngstown Italian Fest returns Friday
The Greater Youngstown Italian Fest opens Friday on downtown’s Central Square.
Spanning four city blocks, the festival offers more than 40 food vendors selling Italian delicacies and fair food and more than two dozen retail craft vendors.
Entertainment is offered on both the main stage and in the wine and beer tent. The main stage lineup includes the Miss Italian Fest Pageant and The Ovations with Mark Pupino on Friday; The Cavaliers with Dan Pollice, a polka Mass with Jack Vasko, Del Sinchak and Angelo Babbaro on Saturday; and the Lowellville Band, Little King & Queen Pageant, Avanti Band, Babbaro and Dom Tocco on Sunday.
Beer and wine tent performers include John Gabriele, Rex Taneri, Radio Lark and Redline on Friday; Jim Frank Trio, Butch Nichols Band, Guys Without Ties and Bustin’ Loose on Saturday; and Rocco Monaco, Frank Gallo and The HouseBand on Sunday.
It ends with a fireworks display at 10:50 p.m. Sunday.
The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Sunday and 1 to 11 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $5 with children ages 11 and younger admitted free. No one younger than 18 will be admitted without a parent present.
