Leanne Binder gets a little help from her friends

Tribune Chronicle

After sharing the stage with Maureen Collins for a Beatles-themed cabaret show in April, Leanne Binder will be center stage for her own performance as part of the Easy Street cabaret series.

Binder, who has fronted several rock bands in the Mahoning Valley over the years, will perform a set that mixes rock, blues, country and soul. It promises feel-good music and sing alongs to music popularized by such artists as Janis Joplin, The Beatles and Johnny Cash.

Joining her will be musicians Gregg Horvat, Lake Baum and Joe Falleti, and Collins will make a guest vocal appearance. For the first time ever, Binder will be joined on stage by some of her voice, guitar and piano students from SongMill Studio.

The cabaret-style concert will feature table seating at Flad Pavilion at DeYor Performing Arts Center, 260 W. Federal St., Youngstown. A small plates menu will be available prepared by Overture Chef Jeff Chrystal.

Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. Saturday concert, billed as “Leanne Binder & Friends,” are $25 and are available at the DeYor box office and by calling 330-744-0264.
