Club offers magical evening
Two performers with national television credits will be featured at the annual Night of Comedy & Magic.
The show is presented by the Youngstown Magic Club, the second-oldest chapter of the International Brotherhood of Magicians.
This year’s main stage entertainment features comedian / magician Jeff Hobson and ventriloquist Ken Groves.
Hobson’s resume include appearances on NBC’s “World’s Great Magic” and Fox Family’s “Masters of Illusion.” He also has appeared on the UK’s “The Illusionists.” He has worked extensively in Las Vegas and served as master of ceremonies for the “World’s Greatest Magic Show” and “V — The Ultimate Variety Show.”
He also is the creator of The Illusionarium, an immersive magical-dining-entertainment experience on Norwegian Cruise Line’s The Get Away.
Groves, who has performed at club events in the past, has appeared on “The Arsenio Hall Show” and has shared stages with such acts as Debbie Reynolds, Rip Taylor, Kenny Rogers, Trisha Yearwood, Mel Tllis, the Statler Brothers, Waylon Jennings and the Oak Ridge Boys.
The show starts at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the LaBrae High School auditorium, 1001 N. Leavitt Ave., Leavittsburg, and members of the Youngstown Magic Club will do close-up magic starting at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased by calling 330-883-0513 or 330-307-4928.
