Warren library offers Churchill program
Scholar and performer Kevin Radaker will portray former British Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill in a program Tuesday at the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library.
Over the course of an hour, “Winston Churchill” will describe himself, his tastes and his hobbies, and he will recall the trials and difficulties of World War II, especially the dark days of 1940 and 1941, when England faced off against Hitler’s Nazi forces alone.
After the monologue, Radaker will break character and answer audience questions about Winston Churchill.
A professor of English at Anderson University in Indiana, Radaker does several one-man shows. He’s presented his portrayal of writer / philosopher Henry David Thoreau more than 400 times since 1991, and he also has a presentation on author C.S. Lewis. In addition to teaching courses on American literature and writing, he has published articles on Thoreau, Herman Melville, Annie Dillard and Wendell Berry.
Admission is free for the 6:30 p.m. program at the library, 444 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren. For more information, call 330-399-8807, Ext. 128.
