Anniversary – Hovanic 65th

Mr. and Mrs. Adrian and Carol Hovanic celebrated their 65th anniversary Aug. 22, 2018.

Adrian and the former Carol Hoffman were high school sweethearts when they graduated from Champion High School in 1951. They were married on Aug. 22, 1953, at St. Mary’s church in Warren. The Rev. Blaine Pierce officiated the ceremony.

After serving in the U.S. Navy on the USS Henley during the Korean War, Adrian worked 41 years at Copperweld Steel in Champion before retiring in 1991. He also served the Champion community as an elected township trustee for 24 years.

Carol received her associates degree from the Cleveland Institute of Technology and worked as a medical laboratory technician with Dr. Westbrook in Warren and Dr. List of Bristolville. She was active in the Ohio Child Conservation League for more than 50 years.

The couple have four sons, Jeffery (Patricia), Perry (Pamela), Gregory (Tami) and Matthew (Deana), and three daughters, Adrianne (Barry) Sturm, Laura (Mark) Wilson and Cynthia Klein (Kenn Hartman). They also have 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
