Richard and Deborah Braun of Newton Falls celebrated their 50th anniversary June 8, 2018.
Richard and the former Deborah Blair were married June 8, 1968, at Braceville Christian Church.
Rick was in the Navy from 1968 to 1972 and in the Air Force Reserves from 1972 to 2003. He worked for the federal government in defense logistics. He retired as a major in the Air Force with 35 years of military service.
Debbie was a homemaker and raised their three children while volunteering for many local organizations and school functions. She has volunteered at The Church Mouse Thrift Shoppe in downtown Newton Falls for nearly 33 years, and Rick has joined her by helping out there the past couple years.
Debbie was a board member for Trumbull Mobile Meals for 20 years. She was also the leader for many of her children’s activities, including Campfire and Tiger Teens, and is still actively planning and working functions with the Newton Falls Elementary School PTO group.
Their three children, Richard (Chrissy) Braun II, Christene (Tim) Stinson and Julie (Chris) Dunlap all reside in Newton Falls. They also have eight grandchildren, ages 4 to 12, who they watch on a regular basis, which keeps them very active.
They are both actively involved with their church, Braceville United Methodist, where Debbie is a Sunday school teacher.
Rick and Debbie enjoy traveling many times each year with friends and family.
