FALL PREVENTION: The Girard Multi- Generational Center is presenting, “A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns about Falls” program at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, and Dec. 10, 13, 17, 20, 27 and 31 at the Girard Multi-Generational Center, 443 Trumbull Ave., Girard. This is a free program.

Many older adults experience concerns about falling and restrict their activities. A Matter of Balance is designed to manage falls and increase activity levels. HEALTH TALK: Trumbull Regional Medical Center is hosting a free community health talk on hip and knee pain at 6 p.m. Thursday at The Avalon Inn and Resort, 9519 E. Market St., Howland. Refreshments will be provided.

Board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon Seth Kuwik, MD, will present treatment options for hip and knee pain, including exercise, weight control, joint replacement and discuss the benefits of Mako robotic-arm assisted technology only available at Trumbull Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Kuwik is an independent member of the medical staff at Trumbull Regional Medical Center and specializes in hip and knee joint replacement and reconstruction.

PFLAG MEETS: Youngstown Area PFLAG will hold its monthly support meeting 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 11 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown.

Youngstown Area PFLAG (Parents, Families, Friends, and Allies) is a support, education and advocacy group for friends and family of LGBTQ community members. Meetings are free and confidential.
