OSTOMY SUPPORT: The Youngstown area ostomy support group will meet 6 to 7 p.m. today at St. Elizabeth Boardman, 8401 Market St., Boardman. This is a nonprofit, self-help support group and family and friends are welcome to attend.

LUPUS SUPPORT: Trumbull Mahoning Lupus Support Group meets 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at Panera Bread, U.S. Route 422, Niles. The meeting is free.

TRUMBULL COUNTY CARES: Trumbull County CARES, a monthly support group for children who have lost a parent to addiction or have a parent in active addiction, and those who are caring for them, will meet 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Support groups will be divided into three groups to allow age-appropriate sharing — ages 8 to 12, 13 to 17 and 18 and older. Childcare for children 7 and younger will be available. Reservations must be made in advance.

SAFE TALKS: Judge Beth A. Smith, Mahoning County Domestic Relations Court, presents “Safe Talks with Valerie Flanigan, LSW” 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesdays in the Domestic Violence Program Office in the basement level of the Mahoning County Courthouse, Youngstown.

Weekly topics include “Signs of an Abusive Personality,” “Power and Control — The Cycle of Violence,” “How Do You Know if Someone has Changed?” and “Understanding Emotional Abuse.”

PEER TO PEER SUPPORT: Domestic abuse support group for all types of abusive relationships — emotional, verbal or physical — is 6 to 7 p.m. June 17 at Howland United Methodist Church, 730 Howland Wilson Road NE, Warren.

HOSPICE VOLUNTEERS: Crossroads Hospice and Palliative Care’s “Change Your Future” campaign is seeking volunteers for assisted living facilities and nursing facilities.

Volunteers are welcome to help Crossroads staff in the office by reading, playing cards or music, or arts and crafts. They may bring their pets to visit patients or run errands and provide respite for family members.

WELLNESS CLINICS: Shepherd of the Valley is offering wellness clinics at each of its locations in Trumbull County. Each site will provide a nurse to check blood pressure and blood glucose levels.
