BREASTFEEDING AWARENESS: In support of this year’s theme for the 2017 Breastfeeding Awareness Month, Trumbull County WIC is hosting “The Big Latch On” event 10 a.m. Friday at the Trumbull County WIC office, 258 E. Market St. Suite 201, Warren. Women gather together to breastfeed and offer peer support to each other. This event is a celebration of breastfeeding moms and the team that supports them.

F.A.I.T.H. HOST DISCUSSION: Families of Addicts Inspired Through Hope (F.A.I.T.H.) will host Mary Duke, director of Teen Straight Talk, 6:30 p.m. today. Duke will discuss prevention and dealing with addiction in the family. She will be available to answer questions about living with addicted love ones. DIABETES EDUCATION: Liberty Township residents are welcome to attend a Diabetes Empowerment Education Program, developed by the Health Service Advisory Group, at 1 p.m. for six Tuesdays beginning Aug. 8, at the Liberty Township Administration Building’s Hearing Room, 1315 Churchill Hubbard Road, Youngstown. MERCY HEALTH PROGRAMS: Mercy Health – Youngstown continues its education, screening and nutrition summer programming. The following upcoming events are open to the public throughout the reading area:

• The Mobile Mammogram van will offer mammograms at several locations around the Mahoning Valley during the month of August. All women 40 and older should have an annual screening mammogram.

The van will provide mammograms from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 9 at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital’s Farmers’ Market, 1044 Belmont Ave, Youngstown; 8:30 a.m. to noon Aug. 10 at Niles SCOPE, 14 E. State St., Niles; 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Aug. 11 at Cortland Primary Care, 421 S. High St., Cortland; and from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Aug. 15 at Mineral Ridge Primary Care, 1360 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

• Diabetes Self-Management Education classes: 9 to 11:30 a.m. Aug. 8 through 10 at St. Joseph Warren Hospital in Classrooms 1 and 2; 9 to 11:30 a.m. Aug. 15 through 17 at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, 1044 Belmont Ave., Youngstown in the Diabetes Classroom, located on the second floor.

These classes include a series of three sessions, three days in a row – Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday – and run for two and a half to three hours each day.

• St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital is hosting a Farmer’s Market from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 9 in the hospital’s Park Avenue Lobby. The market is also scheduled for Sept. 13 and Oct. 4.
