MAMMOGRAM MAMMOVAN: The Niles SCOPE, 14 State St., Niles, is taking appointments for mammograms 1:30 to 3 p.m. March 21 on the Mercy Health Mammovan. Each appointment will be approximately 15 minutes. Insurance will be accepted. Those with no insurance will be eligible for a free mammogram.

717 RETIREES TO MEET: 717 Packard / Delphi retirees will meet 11 a.m. March 22 at the 717 union hall. The speaker will be from the Trumbull County Library. All 717 retirees are welcome.

RETIREES TO MEET: St. Joseph Hospital Retirees will meet for breakfast 9:30 a.m. March 27 at Wayside Restaurant in Champion. Attendees are asked to bring a nonperishable donation for the food bank.

COPPERWELD RETIREES TO MEET: Copperweld Steel Melt Shop retirees and support employees are welcome to attend a 9 a.m. breakfast April 1 at the Hometown Buffet in Niles. For more information, contact Richard Orr at 330-847-8540.

TCAP SENIOR CENTER: The Trumbull Community Action Program Senior Center, 1230 Palmyra Road SW, Warren, 330-393-2507, is open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Monthly activities include bingo. All monthly activities begin at noon.

• The free monthly senior lunch is noon today.

• Computer classes are offered 10 to 11 a.m. every Thursday in the Robin Elzy Learning Center. Topics covered during the free training include keyboard and mouse usage, word processing, document editing, Internet usage and more.

NUTRITION SITES AVAILABLE: The Trumbull County Nutrition Program for the Elderly is provided by the Trumbull County Office of Elderly Affairs and operates nutrition sites at 10 locations in the county. Meals will be delivered to county residents 60 or older who are homebound, unable to cook for themselves and not living with someone who can cook for them. Client donations are accepted for meals.

TUESDAY: Baked ham slice, scalloped potatoes, carrots, wheat bread, pineapple tidbits, mini banana loaf

WEDNESDAY: Roast beef with gravy over egg noodles, broccoli, tossed salad with ranch dressing, Italian bread, peaches, cookie

THURSDAY: Roast pork with au jus, whipped potatoes, sauerkraut, wheat bread, Mandarin oranges, sherbet

MARCH 24: Salmon fillet with dill sauce, ranch seasoned redskin potatoes, baby lima beans, dinner roll, mixed fruit, pudding

TRANSPORTATION AVAILABLE TO NUTRITION SITES: Trumbull Community Action Program can transport senior citizens to the nutrition sites in Trumbull County that are operated by the Office of Elderly Affairs.

Transportation is for people 60 or older or their spouses. Those needing the service must call TCAP at 330-395-2287 to schedule rides and the Trumbull County Office of Elderly Affairs at 330-675-2486 to make meal reservations. Both calls are required before 3 p.m. two working days before they wish to go.

Seniors will be asked to make a donation for both their ride while in the van and for their meal while at the nutrition site.

• Transportation to the Trumbull Community Action Program Senior Center is available at 11:30 a.m., with departure at 2:30 p.m. The schedule is Monday and Wednesday, east side of Warren, and Tuesday and Thursday, the west side of Warren.

Call Community Action Transportation System at 330-395-2287 24 hours in advance to make reservations.

VAN HUFFEL, VANEX MEET: Former Van Huffel and Vanex Tube employees meet 8 a.m. Fridays at Wayside Restaurant, 825 State Road NW, Champion. For more information, call 330-719-9781.

• Intermediate-advanced tap dancing classes are being provided by Jason Burgermyer at 11 a.m. on Fridays. Pat Lumpkin teaches beginners at 9:30 a.m.

• The SCOPE Golf League will offer a free informational breakfast 9 a.m. April 11. Call the center for more information.

CORTLAND SCOPE: 125 N. Bank St., Cortland, 330-637-3010, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays, except for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursdays. Open recreation includes darts, pool and cornhole.

• Dr. Fleisher will be at the center at 12:30 p.m. March 24 for a talk abut eye care.

• Make an Easter wreath at 10:30 a.m. March 31. Call to reserve your supplies. Cost includes the wire form, netting and embellishments.

FOWLER-VIENNA SENIOR CITIZENS: The group meets 9:30 a.m. or later Thursdays at the Fowler Community Center to play 500 bid, euchre and games, celebrate birthdays and anniversaries and for a 50-50 raffle and meals. Special meals are served on the fourth Thursday of the month. The center for those 55 and older.

LORDSTOWN SCOPE: Rear of Lordstown Elementary School, 1776 Salt Springs Road, Lordstown, 330-824-2173. Open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. Call ahead for lunch, which is served 11:30 a.m. weekdays.

• Game Night is 6 to 9 p.m. the last Wednesday of the month.

• Fitness rooms are open 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays; morning stretch classes, 9:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; one-on-one computer or tech tutoring by appointment.

• The Fourth Ward Block Watch holds its monthly meetings at the center 5 p.m. the second Wednesday of every month.

• Movies are offered 9:30 a.m. every Thursday and includes popcorn and hot chocolate; yoga classes, 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays (fee); and tai chi classes, noon every Friday (fee).

• The center also offers through social worker Christine Bridgens assistance with Medicare, prescription assistance and many other senior citizen issues by appointment.

• The Center is also an AARP Tax Aide site and this service is available from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays until the middle of April.

TAX-AIDE LOCATIONS: AARP Tax-Aide is a program of the AARP Foundation, which is offered in conjunction with the IRS. This program provides free tax preparation and filing for federal and state tax returns for low- and moderate-income families and senior citizens through April 15. Those who attend must bring a photo ID, Social Security card for each person in the household, a copy of last year’s tax returns, any other income information and Affordable Care Act Forms 1095.
